This 12-by-12-inch mixed-media piece assembles a vintage viewfinder, torn colored and lined papers, and a found envelope addressed to a Berkeley professor to form earthlike landscapes that suggest memory, distance, and perspective. A cutout of a boy peering through binoculars, alongside his sister and father, anchors the composition in acts of looking, learning, and inheritance. Together, these elements invite the viewer to consider how vision—both literal and generational—shapes what we notice, what we remember, and how we situate ourselves in the world.
